New Jersey Online Casino Games

Casino games are a fun way to socialize, test your wit, and potentially make some winnings. While casino games are quite easy to learn, mastering the intricate rules can take time. On this page, we'll introduce you to all of the games you'll find in a casino. If you'd like to learn more about the game and its strategies, you can follow the links to the relevant pages.

Atlantic City is already known throughout the world for its huge casinos brimming over with games and eager bettors. Ever since its achieving legal footing in 2013, online casino games can be enjoyed anywhere throughout the state. Now in its 6th year, the online casino market is offering greater and greater variety, with casinos seeking the best games to bring more customers to their screens.

Below we have a breakdown of the different casino games and the variations you'll find for all your online casino betting desires.

Games Offered in Online Casinos

With thousands of games at your fingertips, there's no doubt New Jersey online gamblers are spoiled for choice. We'll have a look at the games that are offered, and then some of the variations within those games. Players are of course attracted to the convenience of online gaming, but many players cite the speed and variety of online casino games as contributing to their love of playing.

Most online gamblers come for the slots, which makes up a whopping 85% percent of the games offered at online casinos in the U.S. Variety is the key here, and casinos can pick which games they want to host among thousands of online slots.

If slots are not your game, you still have hundreds of variations of other casino games to choose from. These are the main four casino table games:

  • Baccarat
  • Blackjack
  • Craps
  • Roulette

Poker isn't always considered a casino table game since you don't play against a dealer (in most versions), but you will find tables where you can play in most casinos. There are different variations of each of the games, and each of these has different rules. Each of these games has many online variants, where you can alter how many hands, cards, or balls you have at play in addition to many options among the bets.

Additionally, table games have live versions available as well. While the pace is slowed down compared to virtual games, you will find these to be quicker than physically located casino games.

Slots

Slots games are far and away from the most popular casino game. That's true both online and in physical casinos. Playing online slots in a legal casino has a tremendous advantage over physical slots games because your Return to Player (RTP) percentage is much higher. Jackpots are more frequent and the payouts can be bigger, so it's no wonder that more and more slots players are playing online.

The only strategy involved in slots is in picking the right game. You have to decide between a game with a high RTP, which means you're more likely to win, and a game with high volatility. Games with high volatility - like jackpots - don't pay out very often, but when they do, the winnings are big.

Most slots games have bonus rounds within them.

There are hundreds and hundreds of online slots games to choose from. You can find games based on popular TV series and movies (such as Baywatch and The Anchorman), bands (for example, Guns and Roses), and seasonal games (such as Santa's Secret). Casino Table Games

We'll begin looking at each of the primary casino table games. This overview will tell you of the basic rules and give you a clue to what is particularly interesting in each game.

Blackjack

Blackjack, or 21, is the most popular casino table game. There are probably two main reasons for this: 1) it's basic rules are quite easy to grasp and 2) it has the lowest house edge of all the games (including slots). The goal is to get as close as you can without going over. While there may be other players beside you, you only have to beat the dealer to win. Options include splitting and doubling down, and there are statistical guidelines that tell you when it's smartest to do that.

Roulette

The second most popular casino table game is roulette. That big spinning wheel of red and black pockets is the first thing many people think of when a casino is mentioned. Although roulette is a game of chance - you can't control where the ball stops - the player's role has to do with picking bets. Some bets are definitely safer than others, and some of the available bets are just bad deals.

Craps

A blow on the dice, a quick shake, then sending them flying down the table. Craps is one of the most exciting - and loudest!- casino games that can be found. Craps also has two bets which are some of the best odds you'll find in any casino game. If you like higher stakes and higher odds, those bets are available in craps as well.

Baccarat

Baccarat, or Punto Banco, isn't quite as popular today as it was a century ago, but those who play it regularly can tell you that it is a very exciting game. The highest possible hand is 9, and anyone can bet on the player, dealer, or for a tie.

Like blackjack, your odds against the house are quite good in baccarat, making this a popular game. There are better and worse bets to make, of course, and some basic strategies that can really improve your playing. Poker

Ever since 2002, the world has been under a poker craze. Online poker gives poker fans an opportunity to hone their skills whenever they like. Online casinos offer all the major poker variations, including:

  • Variations of Texas Holdem
  • Jacks or Better
  • Tripple play draw poker
  • Double and Tripple Bonus poker

You will also find video and live poker. With video poker, the scenes are prerecorded, though played at random. With live poker, you have a live dealer you can interact with.

We have guides for online poker, video poker, and live casino table games so you can be sure to get the best advice and leading strategies.

Live Dealer Games

Blackjack, baccarat, craps, poker, and roulette all have live dealer variations you can play online. For many players, this is the best of both worlds. Live dealer games give you the feeling of being in a casino - including banter with your dealer - but with the privacy and portability of playing at home or on your smartphone or tablet.

Live dealer games are always available. You can always find a place at the table. And the rules and RTP are always available for you to see. These are some major advantages over playing in a physical casino. And there is one final advantage: no hunting for parking!

Return to Player (RTP)

If casinos regularly gave out more money than they took in, the casino industry would be short-lived. But if players only gave out money with no returns, the casinos would be empty. There has to be a balance where casinos will do most of the winning, but all players have a chance to win, and some players will win big.

Return to Player is the key term here, and it indicates the percentage at which bettors can expect to win. If a game has an RTP of 96% (which is quite low, even for slots), that means that, for every $100 a player bets, on average they'll get back $96. Some will get back less, some get back more, and you're hoping you'll get back a lot more.

Games with low RTP's tend to have higher rewards because you're gambling on winning big to make up for the losses. Jackpots, for example, have very low RTP's; players have no illusions about their odds, but are hoping for a big win!

Many players like to mix up the RTP level of the games they play. Losing continuously is no fun, even at low stakes. At the same time, the low stake wins of high RTP games are not as emotionally rewarding for some players, so they like to pepper their playing with some lower RTP, higher potential rewards games.
